Sublmnl Partners with Caldwell County Schools on New Brand Identity
Sublmnl, a North Carolina-based brand development and digital marketing studio, has partnered with Caldwell County Schools to develop a brand-new identity for the school system. The project is far more than a new logo. It’s a complete identity system built to align the school district with the broader Caldwell County brand that Sublmnl developed for the county government.
A Brand Built to Connect, Not Just Represent
Caldwell County Schools had never had a fully developed brand identity before this project. That meant no consistent visual language tied the district together, let alone connected it to the county itself.
Sublmnl saw an opportunity to fix both problems at once. Rather than create a standalone school system logo, we built an identity that felt like a natural extension of Caldwell County’s recent rebrand. That same rebrand caught the school system’s attention and prompted them to reach out.
A Complete, Flexible Identity System
This project included primary marks, secondary treatments, and tertiary treatments. That gives Caldwell County Schools a flexible identity system, not just a single static logo.
The new brand can adapt across many different uses. It works for official district communications. It works for athletics and spirit wear. It even works for individual school signage.
Sublmnl also explored branding opportunities for individual schools within the district. The goal was simple: let each school express its own identity and pride, while still operating clearly under the larger Caldwell County Schools brand.

We wanted to build something that ties directly back to the county’s identity, so the whole community feels that connection every time they see it.”
